Presentations to educate, motivate and inspire

In From Rock Bottom to Finding Purpose, Paul speaks with honesty and depth about his experience as the victim of a one-punch attack, offering a real-life insight into the lifestyle changes, mindset shifts, and his journey of rehabilitation.

His story goes beyond awareness – it demonstrates what is possible through resilience, the right support, and a strong focus of personal growth.

Paul has developed a great relationship with the University of Hull, delivering impactful sessions to students studying nursing, nutrition and dietetics, physiotherapy, and clinical psychology. These presentations provide invaluable first- hand insight into the lived experience of traumatic brain injury, helping future
healthcare professionals understand not only the clinical aspects of neuro- rehabilitation, but the emotional, psychological, and social realities that accompany recovery.

Paul bridges the gap between theory and lived experience. He supports students to:

Develop deeper empathy and patient-centred understanding

Appreciate the long-term impact of brain injury on identity, family, and daily life

Understand effective treatment pathways and multidisciplinary approaches

Recognise the importance of holistic rehabilitation, lifestyle change, and mindset

Reflect on their future professional practice and communication

He also highlights the key interventions, support systems, and personal strategies that enabled him to rebuild his life and go on to found a UK-registered charity. Paul is proud to raise awareness of the services provided by P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery and to inspire future healthcare professionals to consider how they may work alongside or support the charity in their careers.
The outcome is a richer, more human understanding of brain injury and rehabilitation – equipping students not only with knowledge, but with perspective, compassion, and purpose in their future roles.
