It’s been a great start to 2024 for P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery and Paul Talks. One area of growth has been public speaking in Secondary schools across the country.

Locally, I’ve been delivering my ‘One Punch Ruins Lives’ presentation to various schools with lots more in the diary. Local business, Tutor Doctor, is kindly sponsoring one talk per school in Hull and East Riding. I was delighted with this feedback from my recent visits to Malet Lambert and Beverley Grammar School –

Students feedback:

“I found Paul’s session absolutely inspirational. Think before you act and never take things for granted.”

“Paul’s talk taught me about coping strategies I could use to calm down.”

Nationally, I travelled to Liverpool to deliver ‘From Rock Bottom to Finding Purpose’. The presentation was well received by three year groups at Rise Academy! I was humbled to read this lovely article on their website and newsletter –

I’m proud of the charity for providing ‘Brain Works Well’ boards to schools. The boards share information about how to support your brain. We hope this will have a positive influence on students’ mental health. We are delighted this work in schools has been championed by local MP, Emma Hardy.

As well as working in schools, I’ve been busy delivering talks with both Hull and East Riding Youth Justice Services, Humber Violence Prevention Partnership and other organisations.

Using my story to positively influence others is always fulfilling!
